The flame arrester element / core is a flame extinguishing device installed in the flame arrester. It is made of corrugated and flat metal strips. Through the design of its gap, it prevents the spread of flames and is the most important element of the flame arrester. Its diameter size, material selection, capillary height and number of elements depend on its purpose.
The filter is used in various types of flame arresters, atmosphere storage tanks, oil and fuel storage tanks, and gas pipeline systems.
There are two forms of explosion-proof corrugated fireproof board
1. A stack of flame-retardant layers with triangular pores are formed by alternating corrugated sheets and flat sheets wound around the central axis.
2. The corrugated sheet is folded in two directions. The material consists of many small holes and channels, providing a zigzag channel for the flame.

The flame arrester net in the flame arrester is made of stainless steel or copper-nickel alloy material. The thickness of ordinary corrugated sheets is 0.1 ~ 0.3 mm. The height of the corrugation is generally 0.2 mm, 0.3 mm, 0.5 mm, 0.7 mm and 1.2 mm. The size of the corrugation depends on the nature of the gas and the flame stopping speed.
We can also customize the parameters of the fire arrester element according to customer requirements, such as curling height, thickness and diameter.

Working Principle
When a mixture ignites in a gap, the flame spreads towards the non-combusted mixture. The expansion in volume of the combusted mixture pre-compresses the noncombusted mixture and accelerates the flame. By heat dissipation in the gap layer of the flame arrestor element, transferring flame to the surface of the waved gap and cooling-down the product below its ignition temperature, the flame is extinguished.
